Hunter has long been know for offering affordable boats that provide maximum accommodations--above and below deck--for a given length and the Legend 37.5 is no exception. This design is quintessential Hunter: large, comfortable cockpit, very light and airy below with a HUGE master berth aft and 6'4 headroom throughout the boat with nicely finished joinery.
And, having been penned before the transition to their new distinctively futuristic Battlestar Gallactica look, the 37.5 has clean, no big-arch-over-the-cockpit lines that are very appealing. Plus she's a BLAST to sail (as well as being safe with her double spreaders and keel-stepped mast with all lines lead to the cockpit).
This particular low-time example was just detailed so shows well inside and out, with a dodger, the diesel engine and roller furling hadsail will make a nice boat for the Bay...
V berth forward, step aft to salon with U-shaped convertible dinette to port and a straight long settee starboard with abundant storage bins behind and above the seats.
Continuing aft is galley to port with nav station and walk-through head leading to master stateroom that's practically beam to beam. Teak & holley sole throughout the boat, recently oiled teak wood work all around, very nice inside and out.
Deep double stainless steel sinks with hot/cold pressure water system, Princess three burner propane stove with oven, built in microwave oven, double lid icebox with Adler-Barbour 12V refrigeration system. Jabsco manual pump toilet with holding tank.
110V AC / 12V DC.
Autohelm depth sounder, Autohelm knot meter, Standard VHF radio, Danforth magnetic compass at binnacle. Sony AM/FM/CD player.
Deck-stepped Isomat tapered aluminum mast and boom with double swept back spreaders (Hunter's B&G rig), North Sails dacron main with lazyjacks, fractionally rigged North Sails 130% genoa on roller furler. Mainsheet with traveller, boomvang, two #44 Lewmar self tailing winches, two #30 Lewmar self tailing winches, all lines lead aft thru seven rope clutches.
FRP hull with spade rudder and fin keel, lead ballast and step-through transom. Hull construction is solid glass with a structural pan glassed to the hull. The deck is molded glass cored with plywood with hardware attachment areas cored with aluminum plate. The hull deck is a very robust outward turning flange capped by an extruded aluminum toe rail with deck/hull joint bonded with 3M 5200 and through bolted every 6 inches.
Bow pulpit, stainless steel stanchions with double lifelines, stainless steel stern pulpit with step through transom to swim platform with stainless steel swim ladder, wheel cable and quadrant steering.
