Truly a one of a kind, Lady Carol was built by Fisher Fairway to very high standards in England and has been meticulously upgraded, refinished and maintained. Her current owner is a high end wood worker and has left his mark throughout the boat with custom inlays, trim pieces and refinishing. The gorgeous interior has been completely redone over the past five years and it shows.
She is equally suited for long voyages to the channel island or cozy weekends at the dock. Her large working foredeck, high bulwarks, protected side and aft deck and large pilothouse help make her a very capable offshore vessel for a short handed crew.
For creature comfort she has a large V-berth forward with a centerline queen, a separate enclosed guest cabin, a large shower stall, a beautiful galley with generous counter space and storage and a large comfortable salon with lots of large windows for light and views.
Included is a Mercury RIB with a good running Mercury 20hp outboard for island adventures and water taxi duties. The RIB is mounted on the swim step with a SeaWise davit system that makes launching and retrieving quick and easy. Additionally there's a beautiful 10' rowing dinghy on the roof with a dedicated crane to launch her so you can exercise in style or give the kids their own tender.
Extensive maintenance items have been performed by the current owner including full rewiring, new steering pumps, new heat exchangers, windlass factory rebuilt, generator upper end rebuild with new exhaust elbow and full service, all new teak cap rails and much, much more. The twin Sabre diesels are exceptionally clean and easy to maintain with all parts easily available for their Lehman blocks.
Very few Fisher Trawlers made it to North America and even fewer made it to the west coast. In this day and age of Ikea interiors and imitation styling, this is a rare chance to own the real thing.
Engine hours are a best estimate from combined information from the current and previous owner. The hour meters were replaced during a rewiring but not updated to the correct engine hours at the time.

Cons
Age-Related Maintenance: As a vessel from 1978, potential buyers should be aware that maintenance and upgrades may be necessary, particularly for systems like plumbing, electrical, and engine components.
Limited Speed: Trawlers are generally designed for cruising rather than speed. The Fisher 38 may not appeal to those seeking faster passage times, as it is optimized for a more leisurely pace.
Narrower Beam Compared to Modern Designs: While spacious, the interior layout may feel less room-efficient compared to newer designs that utilize modern space-saving techniques.
Weight and Handling: The solid construction, while a pro in many respects, also results in a heavier vessel that might be more challenging to maneuver in tight marinas or shallow waters.
Older Technology: Depending on the specific model and any upgrades, buyers may encounter older technology that could require replacements or retrofitting to meet modern standards.
Resale Value: While the Fisher brand carries a good reputation, the resale value of a 1978 model may not appreciate as quickly as more modern boats, affecting long-term investment considerations.
