18' Lap Strake construction, she was built in Newport Beach, California in 1955 at the South Coast Boat Yard. Rare West Coast pedigree. She has been recently repowered with a 20 hp Electric Elco Motor. She draws attention on the water with people wanting to know about the boat and usually it doesn't even register that she is now battery powered and quiet. She is perfect for cruising the Newport Harbor channels. Currently capable of cruising the channels for up to 3 hours (much longer with increased battery bank). Glide along quietly and effortlessly enjoying the serenity of the water and houses.
Vessel is 90% complete, the bottom has been recently re-calked with 3M 5200 at all seams under the waterline. She still seeps a little water but is very seaworthy. She also needs some attention to the top side varnish. It is the perfect project to work on over the winter and have her ready to turn heads.
