The Sea Ray Sundancer is the cabin cruiser line that has carried the American builder's reputation among day boaters and weekenders, and the Sea Ray Sundancer 320 has been its best seller for the last few years. The 320 comes two ways: a sterndrive inboard version and an outboard version, and they look and finish quite differently on board. The 280 Sundancer and the larger 370 Sundancer round out the range with the same crossover thinking, a deck built for entertaining sitting above a deep, usable cabin. Buyers searching for Sea Ray Sundancer boats for sale will find a deep-V hull line that throws around like a sports boat but still sleeps a couple in comfort.

On performance, the numbers separate the variants clearly. A Sea Ray Sundancer 320 outboard with triple Mercury 350s runs a top speed close to 50 miles an hour, while the inboard sterndrive 320, depending on horsepower across petrol and diesel options, cruises in the 30 to 35 knot range. A sterndrive 320 fitted with twin 300-hp Mercury engines reached 37 knots at 5,000 rpm, with a sensible cruise of 28 knots at 3,900 rpm and a fast cruise of 32 knots at 4,500 rpm. Trim tabs and a bow thruster help, and the joystick control — optional on both inboard and outboard 320s — adds autopilot and GPS station-keeping that locks the boat in place within a few meters. The hull shows a little bow rise on acceleration before settling onto plane.

The helm carries a Simrad glass display, an adjustable steering wheel, tactile stainless steel buttons rather than plastic switches, and a flip-up bolster seat with a raised footrest for a braced standing position. The 320 offers a hard top as standard, with an optional one-button awning and a sunroof; the surround glass can be left open, configured with just the forward screens, or specified as the full Coupe with glass all the way around and a forward section that slides across to open onto the foredeck. A camper canvas package fully encloses the cockpit. The 280 Sundancer uses a clean three-spoke wheel with burlwood accents, an updated Garmin and a Raymarine below it, and a double-wide helm seat whose backrest flips and rotates to join the cockpit seating.

Deck layout is where the Sundancer earns its name. The 320's bow seats three adults — or four children with the armrests flipped up — around a Sea Ray table, reached by a safe full-height walkthrough rather than a step over the deck. Sea Ray broadened the bow to give almost full-beam deck space, with lockers running from bow to stern. Underfoot you can choose Infinity flooring, SeaDek, or full teak, and upholstery comes in ivory, dune, gray stone, and white. The swim platform is large, with an optional submersible version, big cleats, the shore-power cable stowage, and the main battery switches mounted at the transom so everything shuts off as you step ashore. A Fusion stereo is controlled from three remotes — helm, bow, and aft — alongside a stainless refrigerator, wet bar, and a slide-out trash can. The 280 Sundancer adds an extended swim platform, full canvas enclosure, and air conditioning with heat.

Below deck, the 320 stays genuinely usable for someone tall, with large hull-side and forward windows. The dinette folds into a double berth, and an aft berth converts from two singles to a double with an infill; storage hides behind sliding doors, and a single compartment houses the vacuum-flush toilet and shower. The 280 adds a galley with microwave, deep sink, electric alcohol stovetop, and refrigerator, plus a mid-cabin and a head usable as a shower. The 370 Sundancer steps up to a two-cabin layout with a transformable bed forward, a second transformable berth aft, a port galley with microwave and sink, and a full head with independent shower separate from the toilet. A 2022 Sea Ray Sundancer 370 with the triple 300 outboard package can be specified with full glass, an aft enclosure, a Seakeeper, generator, and three sunroofs. As with any used Sea Ray Sundancer, a pre-purchase survey matters: check the running surface, through-hulls, sterndrive or outboard lower units, repower history and hours, and any hard-top or cabin leaks before you buy.
