The Sea-Doo Switch Sport is a jet-powered tritoon built for water sports, sitting within a Switch lineup that also includes the base Switch, Cruise, Limited and Fish models. It first launched in 2022 and is built around a Sea-Doo personal watercraft platform rather than a traditional pontoon design, with handlebar steering in place of a wheel and a Rotax inboard water jet in place of an outboard and prop. The Sport trim is set up for towing and tubing, with a fold-down front fence that opens a forward lounge area and provision for a ski pylon. The mid-size Sport is an 18-footer running a 230-horsepower powertrain; the Sport and Cruise series extend up to 21 feet and 230 horsepower, while the base Switch is offered in 13-, 16- and 19-foot lengths with 130 or 170 horsepower.

The 18-foot Switch Sport with the 230-horsepower supercharged engine reaches a top speed of 45 mph, with its strongest pull felt off the line in sport mode. Because it is a tritoon, the two outer hulls are angled inward and can be filled with water for stability, letting the boat lean into corners and bank like a monohull instead of staying flat like a conventional pontoon. The Rotax jet drive feeds Sea-Doo's IBR intelligent brake and reverse system, where popping the left lever shifts to neutral, holding it engages reverse, and the right lever drives forward — the same control logic used on Sea-Doo personal watercraft since 2009. Squeezing the brake drops a bucket behind the jet to stop the boat quickly, which is useful when towing a skier or wakeboarder. The naturally aspirated 170-horsepower option trades outright speed for better fuel burn, more range and quieter running.

The helm console is the one fixed structure on the boat, with a wide seat sized for larger occupants, a pair of cup holders, a digital display, Bluetooth and stereo controls, a mounting point for a Garmin screen, and an overhead mirror for watching the area behind the boat. A flip-up gray bolster raises the captain to a tall standing position for better visibility while towing. Storage includes a glovebox at the helm, a deck locker for safety gear that drops into the large center pontoon, and an aft hatch for engine access. Audio comes from a JL Audio Bluetooth system, and the boat runs three drive modes: sport, normal and eco.

Modularity defines the deck. Floor panels and seats lift out and reposition in seconds using green release tabs, so seating can be rearranged on the water rather than fixed at the factory. Sea-Doo sells accessories — coolers, cargo boxes and a fuel caddy among them — that lock into the same mounting points. The same sectional approach drives production: the 13-, 18- and 21-foot lengths share an identical console section, with hull segments added or removed to change overall length. The 18-foot Sport carries a U.S. Coast Guard maximum capacity of seven people or 987 pounds, and weight should be spread evenly side to side and bow to stern for safe handling.

Construction uses BRP's Polytec composite, a polypropylene molded with long-strand glass fibers making up about 30 percent of the material by weight; the color runs all the way through, it resists scratches when beaching on sand or stones, and individual sections can be replaced more affordably than repairing fiberglass. The supercharged engine requires premium unleaded fuel and a break-in period of roughly three to five hours during which the computer restricts power. The fuel gauge is a stepped readout that reads less precisely than the multifunction display. Sea-Doo Switch Sport pricing is comparatively low for a tritoon, with the Switch range starting around $24,000 to $25,000 and running up past $50,000, and the MSRP includes the trailer — making it one of the more affordable tritoons for sale and one of the few pontoon-style boats that handles like a personal watercraft.
