The Sea-Doo GTX is the touring, luxury-leaning side of the Sea-Doo lineup, a full-size PWC first introduced in 1992 and built today on the Rotax 1630 engine. The current touring family splits into the GTX, the GTX Limited and the Explorer Pro, with the Limited serving as the higher-trim version of the same machine. A 2026 base GTX carries a starting price of $15,950 before taxes, destination, assembly and dealer fees, which typically add several thousand dollars on top. The GTX 155 and earlier GTX 165 occupy the more accessible mid-level slot, running a 155-horsepower naturally aspirated Rotax for better reliability and fuel economy.

Power comes in distinct tiers. The Sea-Doo GTX 170 is naturally aspirated, runs on 87-octane fuel and reaches roughly 58 mph. The GTX 230 adds a supercharger for about $1,000 more and still runs regular gas, while the GTX 300 is supercharged for nearly double the base horsepower at around $2,700 over the 170. At the top sits the supercharged 1630 in the GTX Limited 325, a 3-cylinder 1,630cc engine making 325 horsepower — the most powerful engine Sea-Doo produces. On the GTX Limited 325 the top speed ran to about 67 mph, with lighter riders likely seeing close to 69. Note that the superchargers on the boosted models need rebuilding roughly every 100 hours.

The GTX Limited 325 measures 135.5 inches in length, 49.2 inches wide and 44.9 inches tall, with a dry weight of 849 pounds, a 600-pound load capacity, a three-rider rating and an 18.5-gallon fuel capacity. The helm centers on a large touchscreen showing media, trip statistics, maintenance reminders and vehicle info, and it pairs with the BRP GO app for navigation. The screen locks out at speed for safety. Sea-Doo's Intelligent Debris Free (IDF) system spins the impeller in reverse to clear weeds and grass from the intake grate without getting in the water, and the Intelligent Brake and Reverse system stops the craft up to 100 feet shorter than watercraft without it. Touring, sport and eco modes, cruise control, adjustable VTS trim, an adjustable steering damper and the ErgoLock seat round out the controls.

Storage and deck layout are core selling points. The GTX uses easy-access front storage where the entire bow and handlebars lift for seated access — 25.3 gallons on current models, listed at 27 gallons on the redesigned 2018 GTX Limited. A watertight glovebox holds a phone with a USB charging port. The rear deck is large, with a reboarding step, fold-flat swim platform and LinQ attachment points for a 4.4-gallon cooler, a 5.5-gallon storage bag or a 4-gallon gas caddy. A ski pylon port is available across the ST3 platform.

The GTX rides on Sea-Doo's fiberglass ST3 hull, a deep-V step hull derived from the RXT-X T3 design; the 2018 redesign added 1.2 inches of width, dropped roughly 78 pounds and lowered the rider's center of gravity. The GTX 155 S adds an adjustable suspension with 5.5 inches of travel, tuned manually under the seat. One buying consideration: ST3 hulls from roughly 2021 to 2023 developed cracking at the bow, with reinforcement reported on 2024 and later models.
