Boat Features

The Scout 670 LXS is a 67-foot outboard center console that Scout Boats developed under the in-house name "project Everest," positioning it as the largest outboard-powered yacht built to date. Power comes from five Mercury V12 600-hp Verado outboards for 3,000 horsepower total, mounted in a V arrangement to match the hull's running surface. The LXS is the sport model in a three-boat range that also includes the LXF (fish) and LXC (cruise) versions, both of which add a flybridge while keeping the same hull. Built in Summerville, South Carolina, near Charleston, it carries a 16-foot-2-inch beam and is intended for families who want sportfish capability alongside cruising comfort.

On the numbers, the 670 LXS reaches a top speed of around 60 mph and runs over 57 mph at full load with bottom paint, while cruising in the high 30s to low 40s, with the most efficient cruise falling in the mid-40s. It carries 1,500 gallons of gasoline for the outboards plus roughly 180 gallons of diesel, draws 3 feet 4 inches at full draft, and weighs about 71,000 pounds. Docking is handled by a Mercury joystick with Skyhook, a bow thruster, and a Side-Power proportional stern thruster with a progressive hold function that pins the boat to the dock at a set percentage. A standard Seakeeper and a 40 kW generator are fitted, and the boat handled substantial cross chop with the gyro stabilizer switched off.

The helm carries four large Garmin displays and a custom Garmin-developed Empirbus GUI that breaks the boat into zones for the lower cabins, upper salon, and exterior, with all circuits reachable from a single panel. The dash uses leather and soft-touch surfaces rather than exposed plastic and metal switches, with a Mercury VesselView gauge, dual wireless phone chargers, a bow camera, and four elevated captain's seats. A second helm station with joystick and thruster control sits aft in the breezeway for short-handed docking.

The cockpit folds out beach platforms on both sides that take overall width past 20 feet, adding at least three feet of deck per side, with stainless steel rigging tubes at the transom and push-button quick steps for dockside boarding. Anglers get twin bait wells, two fish boxes, and an Eskimo 540 ice machine that makes 540 pounds of ice per day, plumbed to either the starboard fish box or the center stern seat. A patented retractable rocket launcher drops out of a dedicated garage and deploys an aft sun shade without contacting the rods. The mezzanine seat is flanked by a Kenyon grill and a freshwater sink, with a full service room below housing the generator and systems. Forward, the bow has a large sun pad with articulating backrests, a lower lounge with a teak table, and oversized speakers.

The enclosed upper salon opens up through drop-down side windows, a raising aft window, and a full sunroof, with a galley featuring an electric cooktop, refrigerated drawers, freezer with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, and a fold-down TV. Below are three staterooms and a day head, including a master in the bow with separate head and shower, cedar closet, and rain shower; a VIP with private day-head access; and twin captain's quarters. A media center offers a Nespresso machine, refrigerator, and a choice of stackable washer-dryer or rod storage. The interior, styled with Harrison Eidsgaard, sleeps roughly eight to nine and comes in light, medium, dark, or custom finishes.
