The Scout 530 LXF is the flagship center console from Scout Boats, an American builder based in South Carolina whose range spans more than 20 models from 25 to 53 feet. At 53 feet long, this is a fishing platform that carries a heavy emphasis on leisure and comfort, suited to owners moving up from sportfish boats who want to run the boat themselves without a crew. Pricing sits around $2.9 to $3 million depending on engine package and options. The hull is built with carbon fiber epoxy vacuum infusion through nearly every structural part, from the hardtop to the deck, which helps keep all-up weight to roughly 14 tonnes including engines.

Performance comes from outboard packages ranging up to a maximum of six engines and 2,700 horsepower. With the quad 600 package the 530 LXF runs to about 70 mph, helped by a dual-stepped running surface and an 18-degree deadrise aft. Fitted with five Yamaha 425s, the boat reaches minimum planing around 15 knots at 2,800 rpm, settles into the high 30s in the 4,000 to 4,400 rpm range, and tops out near 55 knots with trim near maximum. Cruising at 40 mph is comfortable, and the 3,312-liter fuel tank gives long legs. The boat planes level with no loss of forward visibility as it comes up to speed.

The helm is fully enclosed with custom covers and air conditioning, carrying a standard 24-inch Garmin display with an optional second 24-inch screen to port, plus repeaters elsewhere so navigators see the same data as the driver. Switching runs through a digital system controllable from any screen, with a separate physical redundancy panel for emergency functions. Standard joystick piloting on the quad 600 setup brings autopilot, Skyhook and Auto Trim, while Zipwake interceptors handle automatic leveling. A Seakeeper gyro is standard at the size 6 with an upgrade to a size 9, and a generator sits below deck for extended stationary fishing.

Fishing capability is concentrated in a wide cockpit with large fish boxes, dual live wells, and rod holders and rocket launchers throughout, including electric pop-up units. The patented rocket launcher tilts down for rod access and back up for storage when the powered sunshade retracts. Drop-down side platforms, called Beach platforms, sit level with the water and widen the beam from 14.5 feet to about 18 feet, with an optional swim ladder. The wet bar carries a grill, sink, refrigerator and an ice maker rated at about 500 pounds in 24 hours. A flybridge upper station, unusual on a boat of this type, offers joystick control, seating for up to six with four forward-facing seats, and a glass floor that passes light into the helm below.

Below deck the 530 LXF sleeps six across an owner's cabin forward with a queen berth and pocket door, plus a second cabin under the cockpit, with the head split into separate shower and toilet compartments. A galley includes a cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, freezer drawers, wine cooler and a TV. Finish details include backlit onyx, Mercedes G-Wagon air vents, JL Audio speakers and a Fusion stereo. Build quality shows in labeled wiring, heavy hinges and gas struts. Boats are built in South Carolina at roughly one per month, so buyers should expect lead times that have run about a year.
