Boat Features

The MasterCraft XT23 is a 23-foot crossover from the XT family built to ski, wakeboard, wake surf and foil, which is why it draws shoppers searching for a MasterCraft wake boat, MasterCraft ski boat or MasterCraft wakeboard boat for sale. It carries the traditional bow rather than the pickle-fork layout of the XT22, gives you clean hull sides and signature MasterCraft styling, and seats up to 16 people. Surf athletes rely on it for the shape and symmetry of its wakes, and the boat is set up to deliver thousands of wave options from mellow and kid-friendly to steep and barreling.

Wave performance runs on Surf Star with 3,300 pounds of ballast, and the rapid surf presets dial intensity from 1 to 7 through the MyDrive rotary encoder, with a custom tab interface for fine-tuning speed, ballast and surf-device position. The 2024 models added built-in foiling profiles for both sides. Optional Fast Fill ballast with high-flow pumps fills or drains in minutes, and underwater exhaust comes standard to cut noise and fumes in and behind the boat. An optional stern thruster, integrated into the throttle knob, can spin the boat 360 degrees in under 30 seconds for tight docking and trailer loading.

Engine choices changed over the model's run. The 2025 XT23 comes standard with an all-new 5.3L GDI high-output Ilmor making 380 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque, a four-star emissions rating and roughly 15% less fuel consumption than the legacy 6L engine. Earlier hulls were offered with Ilmor's 6.2L putting out 433 horsepower; that setup got an XT23 on plane in 2.9 seconds, reached 25 mph in 5.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 42 mph with very little bow rise. A 2009-era example ran the Ilmor 5000 MPI. All MasterCraft engines come exclusively from Ilmor and carry a 7-year or 1,000-hour warranty.

The helm was completely redesigned for 2025 around a standard 12-inch touchscreen, with a rudder position sensor, a new captain's chair and a storage cubby behind the steering wheel; removing the secondary screen opened a larger viewing window over the dash. Earlier boats used a 7-inch screen with an optional dual-screen dash, tower camera, navigation and backup camera. A wireless phone charger sits below the dash, and onboard telematics feed the MasterCraft Connect app for battery and fuel levels, engine health, GPS geofencing alerts and remote battery shutoff. Klipsch audio is standard with six interior speakers and a subwoofer, upgradable to a premium package and up to four tower speakers.

The cockpit uses U-shaped wraparound seating with hinged clamshell seats over extensive under-seat storage, a starboard built-in cooler, four under-gunnel phone holders that can be upgraded to wireless charging, and an optional convertible flip seat that turns to watch the action behind the boat. The transom carries integrated seating with a standard sliding base and optional flip-up backrest, a standard walkthrough with soft-touch flooring, an optional flip-down swim step, and storage trays or rear storage nets for vests and ropes. Towers come as the Z6, Z8 or Z10, the Z8 and Z10 with colored inlays, giving 10 board spots with Bimini storage. Cool Feel upholstery stays up to 30% cooler than standard marine vinyl.

The XT23 is handcrafted with a higher freeboard for a dry ride and backed by MasterCare, a 5-year 500-hour warranty. Buyers can match a custom trailer with chosen colors, wheels and graphics, fiberglass fenders, electronic brakes, a backup camera and tire pressure monitoring. With a worldwide MasterCraft dealer network, used MasterCraft boats for sale and new XT23 examples turn up across markets including Utah, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin and beyond, so it's worth confirming engine choice, ballast options and tower selection on any specific boat you're considering.
