Boat Features

The Grady-White Canyon 456 is the flagship of the Grady-White line, a 45-foot center console built for offshore fishing families who want to run far, fish hard, and stay comfortable doing it. It carries a 14-foot beam and weighs just under 32,000 pounds, putting it among the largest center consoles in its class. The hull uses Grady-White's CV2 design, a continuously variable V whose deadrise sharpens from the transom forward, giving more wave-cutting angle at the bow and flatter, more stable running surface aft for stability at rest and at slow speeds. Like every Grady-White, it is true self-bailing and built with level flotation.

Power comes from quad Yamaha 450 XTO outboards for 1,800 total horsepower, the engine package that replaced the previous quad 425 setup. Top speed runs around 58 miles per hour, with a comfortable cruise near 30 miles per hour. At cruise the boat returns roughly 0.5 to 0.6 miles per gallon, and with 616 gallons of fuel aboard, cruising range is approximately 380 miles. A Zip Wake auto-leveling trim system is standard, and a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer is built in as standard equipment, mounted beneath the cockpit sole.

The helm seats four in independent chairs with diamond-quilted upholstery, lumbar support, flip-down armrests and bolsters, individual footrests, and electric fore-and-aft adjustment. The blacked-out dash with carbon-fiber switch panel accepts dual 22-inch displays as shown, dual 24s, or triple 16- or 17-inch screens. DC items run through a CZONE digital switching system, and control comes via Yamaha's binnacle, autopilot, and Helm Master joystick with full set-point functions. Air conditioning feeds four adjustable vents, and electric side glass plus an overhead sunroof open the enclosure for fresh air.

In the cockpit, the 14-foot beam opens up serious fishing room, expanded further by an aft-folding transom seat that drops flush against the transom. The transom holds dual 35-gallon livewells, the port well with a built-in plenum, and a 459-quart insulated fish box with its own thermostat that runs as refrigerator or freezer and drains overboard. Dual side dive doors work either port or starboard, and a split wet bar splits a freshwater sink and cutting boards on one side from an electric Kenyon grill, refrigerator, and dedicated trash bin on the other. An electric Sure Shade extends over the cockpit and can run deployed up to 41 miles per hour. All hardware is 316 stainless steel, with under-gunnel rod storage and overhead life-jacket storage in the hardtop.

Below deck sits a full cabin that lives larger than most center console interiors. A wraparound dinette seats roughly six and converts to a king-size berth with a push-button table and filler cushion. The split galley has Corian countertops, a mother-of-pearl backsplash, a two-burner stove, refrigerator-freezer, microwave/convection oven, and pop-out rod storage. A cedar-lined hanging locker, a touchscreen safe, an HDMI smart TV, and air conditioning round it out, while the enclosed head has a vacuum-flush toilet, vanity, and a fold-away shower door.

Options are few: hull color, canvas, outriggers (22-foot Gemlux as fitted), and an optional aft bench seat, since most equipment is standard. The base boat-and-engine package starts around $1.8 million, before electronics, which Grady-White leaves to the buyer to customize.
