Boat Features

The Bennington R25 is a 25-foot bow rider pontoon boat from Bennington's high-end R series, built around a step-down U-lounge bow that sits below deck level. Dropping the front of the deck places guests closer to the water and raises the captain's sightlines above the heads of forward passengers, what Bennington calls its captain's-view layout. Side viewports cut into the bow rails improve visibility when docking and picking up skiers, and a bow gate makes boarding from the front easier. The boat carries up to 17 people, which suits large families and groups looking for a single pontoon for cruising, water sports and sandbar days.

Performance comes from a genuine V-hull center tube flanked by two 23-inch pontoons, a patented V-shaped design that lets the boat carve turns more like a monohull while still offering in-floor storage. The bow rider is designed around the integrated V-hull performance package and pairs with engines up to 300 horsepower. A 300-horsepower Yamaha outboard delivered 43 mph at the top end, and a Yamaha 350 reached 42.5 mph. The R25 is also available as a sterndrive: a Volvo Penta V8 300-horsepower I/O fitted with the ESP performance package, which uses a larger oval-shaped center tube and adds Volvo's quick-drain system for cold-weather use.

At the helm, the R25 can be equipped with the Vivid UX system, which combines a 12-inch main display with a 7-inch vessel control display, both using touchscreen digital switching. An optional Garmin or Simrad screen handles navigation and engine data, with screens available up to 12 inches. The elevated helm seat is an R-series recliner with a flip-down armrest and swivel function. A Rockford Fosgate PMX2 head unit with Bluetooth and Kicker speakers comes standard, and an optional Roswell six-speaker premium audio package with upgraded subs and amps is tuned specifically for the boat. Wireless charging in the starboard armrest plus high-speed USB and USB-C ports keep devices powered.

The stern uses Bennington's swing-back design that converts to as many as five configurations, including a rear-facing lounge, a flat sun pad, a forward-facing bench and twin forward-facing loungers with adjustable backs. Flip the seat back and there is large under-seat storage plus a hidden privacy area for changing, along with cup holders and a stereo remote within reach. An extended swim platform and a lily-pad style boarding ladder ease getting on and off. Up top the boat can be fitted with an open arch, a fiberglass-cladded arch or a carbon-fiber arrow arch that folds down for storage and supports the bimini.

Interior finishes include Simtec soft vinyl upholstery with contrast top-stitching, woven vinyl or teak-slate flooring that resists heat, and a foam-molded wood-grain table. Storage runs throughout: under every seat, beneath the helm and port console with a removable trash can, and inside the carved-out center elliptical tube for skis and water toys. A foam-insulated cooler drains to the bilge, and an included ottoman doubles as a cooler. Options seen on R25 boats for sale include a 32-inch elliptical center tube with the wave-tamer package, electric power bimini, underwater LED lighting, integrated stainless docking lights, pop-up cleats and a matching Shorelander trailer. Color choices span panel and accent combinations such as Smoky Granite with metallic silver, Monaco Blue and firecracker. Buyers weighing an R25 should match engine choice to use, since the outboard models top out near 43 mph while the Volvo Penta I/O trades the transom-mounted outboard for a fuller swim platform and a smoother ride in open water.
