The Bennington 23 SSRX is a 23-foot tritoon built for families who want one boat that seats a crowd and still pulls skiers and tubes. It carries a maximum capacity of 12 passengers, with bench seating wrapping the stern in a rounded radius and a single helm chair forward. The deck stretches the full 23 feet thanks to an extended aft half-deck behind the engine, which opens up room for an ice chest, tubes and a curved or aluminum boarding ladder for getting in and out of the water. A wide side door and an available third door make boarding easy across the layout.

Performance comes from a 150-horsepower four-stroke outboard, packaged with Yamaha, Mercury or Suzuki. A 23-foot Bennington pontoon set up this way runs in the upper 30s, close to 40 mph. With the SPS performance system, which adds a wave shield and lifting strakes inside the pontoon tubes, the boat corners hard while staying stable in rough water. Stepped up to the ESP performance package, with 25-inch outboard tubes and an elliptically shaped centerline tube, a 23 ft Bennington pontoon delivers sport-boat handling and top speeds in excess of 41 mph.

The helm is a sport console finished in a zebra-wood-look panel with milled aluminum toggle switches with illuminated tips. A Simrad 7-inch screen handles mapping and key information, with toggle switches flanking each side, dual cup holders, USB ports and a locking glove box below. Audio runs through a Kicker KMC 10 head unit, Rockford Fosgate or Garmin GPS depending on configuration, with a Fusion stereo offered as an upgrade. Stainless steel docking lights and cleats and bright LED lighting round out the equipment, and ABS plastic docking lights on some builds house the running lights.

Seating and upholstery are a strong point of this 23 Bennington pontoon. The boat uses Simtex vinyl, a high-end Porsche material seen on European yachts, that is stain and mildew resistant, easy to clean with mild soap and water, and resists getting too hot to the touch. Color options include arctic white, sandstone and metallic white with accent panels such as Mediterranean blue, and the seats carry diamond stitching. The swing-back lounge flips to face forward or aft for rear-facing loungers, hides a changing curtain and a lumbar pocket that conceals drink holders and recessed speakers. Flooring is woven vinyl slate or designer vinyl rather than carpet, so it resists mold and needs less upkeep.

Storage is generous throughout the 23-foot Bennington pontoon boat. The in-floor compartment runs roughly six to seven feet long and about 25 inches wide, giving a place for the included cover, loose life jackets and soft-sided coolers. Seats pop up for additional in-seat storage, and small black vents where the rails meet the deck pull fresh air across stowed gear to keep it dry. A table insert mounts in the bow, and a Bimini top and heavy-duty ski tow bar are available for water sports.

Construction backs the rest of the package. Closely spaced channels form the deck foundation, and Bennington uses through-bolts rather than screws or rivets for a more robust build. The boat carries a 10-year bow-to-stern warranty. When shopping a Bennington 23 SSRX for sale, weigh the engine brand and horsepower, whether the SPS or ESP performance package is fitted, and which stereo, screen and accent color the boat is equipped with, since those options shape both performance and price.
