The Bayliner Trophy T22 CC is a 22-foot center console built by Brunswick, the same company behind both the Trophy line and Mercury outboards. It carries an 8-foot-6 beam and an overall length of about 22 feet 7 inches, with an 18-degree transom dead rise that favors stability at anchor over a deep-V offshore cut. The design works as a close-shore and bay boat, suited to the Intracoastal Waterway, lakes, protected stretches of the Keys, and moderate days running a few miles into the Gulf. With a rated capacity of 10 people, it splits its purpose between family cruising and fishing.
Power starts with a 150-horsepower Mercury and the transom is rated to accept up to 300 horsepower, useful headroom for a hull that weighs roughly 4,000 pounds off the trailer and 4,942 pounds with it. On the 150, the boat planes easily and reached a top speed of 34 mph during a full day on the water; six hours of running burned about $68 of fuel to refill the 65-gallon tank. The light weight means it tows behind a mid-size truck or an SUV rated near 5,000 pounds, and the 8-foot-6 beam keeps it under any wide-load permit. A galvanized trailer with a swing tongue comes standard.
The helm is clean and simple, with a Mercury VesselView 7-inch Simrad-based display handling engine data, GPS, fish finding and depth, plus a single-throttle Mercury control, a Bluetooth stereo and an adjustable steering wheel that works seated or standing. The T-top folds down for garage storage or transport, and a Bimini top can be ordered in its place.
Aft, swim platforms on either side run close to 2.5 feet long, served by a four-step boarding ladder and a step-through transom. The stern seat cushions and backrest are fully removable, and the seats fold flat for a casting deck or flip up with high backrests for extra passengers. Two aft livewells come standard on the 22cc, with rod holders on the T-top and rod storage in both gunnels. A removable ski pylon adds tubing and skiing duty, and options include a freshwater shower, foam non-skid decking, exterior docking and transom lights, underwater lights, and a stainless steel package that upgrades the rub rail, fittings and cup holders.
Bayliner pushes the beam well forward and rounds out the bow rather than coming to a sharp point, opening up casting and lounging space with two lay-down seats, removable backrests and a forward-facing cooler seat ahead of the helm. The anchor locker in the bow drains overboard. The center console holds a usable head compartment with additional storage forward that you wouldn't expect on a boat this size, and a large fish box sits under the bench seat.
On value, used one-year-old examples with minimal hours have been seen around $45,000, with new boats in the low $60,000s. The main tradeoff is the 18-degree dead rise, which can mean a wetter ride and reduced efficiency in chop, so buyers wanting more all-weather speed should weigh the 300-horsepower maximum against the economical standard 150.
