Boat Features

The Azimut Verve 42 is the smallest model in the Azimut range, a 42-foot outboard-powered weekender designed for fun days afloat on both coastal and freshwater playgrounds. It made its world debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show as the baby sister to the Verve 47, sharing exterior and interior lines by Francesco Struglia, including the strip glazing in the hull that has become a design signature. The hull is fiberglass, while everything above the rub rail and the decks is carbon fiber laminated with vinylester resin, a construction choice that keeps weight down and the center of gravity low so the Seakeeper gyro stabilizer can work effectively. Anyone looking at an Azimut 42 Verve for sale is looking at an Italian luxury builder applying its big-yacht detailing to a fast American-style outboard boat.

Power comes from triple Mercury Racing 450 outboards, a combined 1,350 horsepower, mounted on a Michael Peters hull with a double step and ventilated tunnel to cut drag; a triple Mercury V10 400 package is also offered. The Azimut Verve 42 has a top speed of 45 knots, with runs near 47.5 knots recorded in light ship condition, and cruises comfortably around 33 to 37 knots. With 474 US gallons of fuel, roughly 1,800 liters, the range is about 200 nautical miles, enough for runs such as Florida to the Bahamas. The boat planes almost immediately with little cavitation and stays dry forward in chop.

The helm carries three custom bucket seats with the center captain's seat adjustable electrically fore-aft and up-down, twin Raymarine displays covering navigation, tankage, battery status and dimmable lighting control, plus GPS, autopilot, radar and XM weather. Joystick control with Skyhook position-hold, a bow thruster, and Humphree interceptor trim blades with integrated active trim handle docking and running attitude. A single button starts or stops all three engines together, and a band of mullion-free glass plus side windows at water level give clear sightlines for touch-and-go pickups and tight berthing.

The cockpit centers on a table that recesses completely flush with the SeaDeck flooring, rises midway for a sunbed with filler cushions, or lifts fully for alfresco dining under a SureShade sun cover that retracts into the carbon-fiber hardtop. A fold-down bulwark extends the beach platform to roughly the size of the Verve 47's, with a side boarding gate and a removable ladder that mounts either side. The bar unit holds a grill, sink, refrigerator and ice maker, backed by three insulated drainable iceboxes for refrigeration capacity. A transom locker stores a Seabob and inflatable paddleboard with two GFCI sockets for charging, and the technical space under the table opens to the Kohler generator, battery chargers, fuel filters and the Seakeeper.

Below deck the layout sleeps four adults across two cabins sharing one oversized head with a separate shower stall, rain shower head and Techma system. The galley to port has a single-burner cooktop and a convection microwave oven. The forward dinette converts to a V-berth via an electric high-low table with filler cushions, served by a 42-inch TV behind a mirror and a spring-loaded blackout privacy screen. The main cabin sits amidships on a lower level, fully enclosed with a door, generous standing height, its own TV, air conditioning, an opening porthole for light and air, and deep storage behind the headboard.

Buyers weighing an Azimut Verve 42 should note the asymmetric deck with a single port-side walkway to the bow, which buys a full-beam windshield and protection for all three helm seats. Equipment seen on the boat includes 50-amp shore power with a Glendinning Cable Master, a JL Audio stereo with subwoofers, a carbon-fiber awning post set stored under the bow cushions, and the Save the Moment spares kit supplied with new boats. The bow sun pad seats four with articulating backrests and a recessed forward lounge.
