Boat Features

The Azimut S8 is an 80-foot 10-inch sport cruiser, the fourth model in the Italian builder's S collection, positioned between the S7 and the Grande S10. At a fraction over 24.6 meters with a 5.55-meter beam, she sits right at the edge of superyacht territory. The exterior is the work of Alberto Mancini, the interior by Francesco Guida, and the construction pairs a GRP hull with a carbon fiber superstructure to keep weight down and the center of gravity low. Floor-to-ceiling glazing runs nearly to the helm, and clear-coat polished carbon fiber columns appear on deck as both structure and design detail. This is a yacht for an owner who wants a genuine sport profile without giving up four-cabin overnighting, and one that can be handled by a committed owner-operator or run with crew.

The S8 is powered by triple Volvo Penta IPS 1350 pods, the most powerful in the IPS range, delivering 1,000 horsepower each for 3,000 horsepower total. Top speed is 34 knots with a cruising speed of 28 knots. At cruise the three engines consume 385 liters of fuel per hour, giving an Azimut S8 range of 260 nautical miles with a 10 percent reserve still in the tank. Azimut states the IPS pods combined with the lightweight carbon construction make her up to 25 percent more efficient than an equivalent yacht with conventional inline shafts and propellers. An active trim control automatically regulates longitudinal trim, and a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer in the engine room steadies the boat underway and at anchor.

The helm carries three 16-inch Garmin displays with the electronics fully integrated into the Volvo Penta IPS system, so engine data, pop-up messages and alarms appear on the glass console without redundant gauges, and servicing runs through a single point of reference. Equipment includes FLIR night vision, open-array radar, a marine-grade Starlink in place of a satellite dome, joystick docking control and a side-power bow thruster. An electric sunroof sits over the main helm station, and a secondary docking station with joystick sits aft.

Deck spaces are a strength. The cockpit seats up to ten around a high-low carbon fiber table that folds out to double size, with a sun pad over the transom, a bar unit with fridge and ice maker, an optional barbecue and a pop-up TV that swivels to the dining area. The entire transom rotates to form a wide beach platform and reveal a tender garage with room for a four-meter tender and a jet ski. The foredeck offers a high-low carbon table, sun pads, stainless cup holders and pop-up LED lighting, with awnings deployed on carbon poles. The sport flybridge is a real fly deck with a second helm, wraparound seating, a bar with Kenyon barbecue, fridge and ice maker, and an electric bimini.

Inside, the main salon runs on a single level with no steps, with opposing sofas, a pop-up 55-inch TV and an interior bar. The galley sits on a mid deck between the main and lower decks, fitted with Miele appliances and a cantinetta cellar holding a 24-bottle wine cooler. Six cabins comprise four for guests and two for crew: a full-beam midships master with walk-in wardrobe and a magic-mirror TV, a bow VIP with a residential-height bed, and two twin-single cabins with Pullman berths, allowing the boat to sleep ten. A 2025 Azimut S8 for sale has been listed at $5.5 million.
