Boat Features

The Azimut S7 is a 70-foot sport cruiser measuring 21.30 meters, the second-generation version of the model and the first boat in the brand's S collection to carry exterior lines drawn by Alberto Manini. Carbon fiber runs through the structure, including the superstructure, which keeps weight down and the center of gravity low for a sports bridge yacht. The hull was designed by naval architect Pierluigi Ausonio, with a stem that is vertical only at the very top and carries a long, elongated curve below the waterline. Buyers can choose the sport fly version with an upper helm and sunbathing space, or a coupé version without the fly bridge, and the boat is certified to CE Category A.

Performance defines this boat. The Azimut S7 runs triple Volvo Penta IPS propulsion, with each diesel rated at 800 horsepower for a combined 2,400 horsepower. Top speed sits steadily around 36 to 37 knots, with peaks to 38 knots when the trim is worked by hand. Two throttle levers control all three engines: the outer engines respond directly, and the central engine engages automatically once the two outer units pass 600 rpm. At 20 knots and 1,550 rpm the boat uses 190 liters per hour, and at 25 knots and 1,750 rpm consumption rises to 240 liters per hour, keeping fuel use under 10 liters per nautical mile. Active trim control manages the longitudinal trim automatically, so the driver only handles the throttles.

The helm sits up on the sports bridge, with two Garmin displays (three screen sizes are offered) and the throttles and joystick set out toward the skipper. Joystick control comes as standard given the triple IPS layout, and a third docking station can be fitted in the cockpit as an option. A lower helm is also positioned inside on the main deck. This version carries no hard top, instead using a fabric bimini that tucks up to the windscreen for shade.

The Azimut S7 layout places the galley right forward on the main deck, a change from the previous model, with the saloon glazing sliding fully to one side to link the interior and cockpit seating into one space. The galley is fitted with induction cooking, an extractor, chest fridge and freezer units, a deep sink, a dark marble-look countertop and electric windows on both sides to clear cooking smells. The headlining uses a wood wave pattern that conceals the air-conditioning vents.

Inside, the Azimut S7 interior pairs natural wood with fiberglass and darker tones, with motorized pedestal tables that rise and join to form a dining table or drop into a coffee-table arrangement. The very large hull and superstructure windows, mounted on different planes to play with light, brighten the saloon. The owner's suite has wide windows and a freestanding tower that holds the television and conceals the washbasin for the head behind it, with generous walking space around the bed. Guests are accommodated in a double VIP cabin in the bow with its own bathroom and a twin cabin with single berths that shares a bathroom, while a crew cabin is reached from a door on the starboard side deck.

On deck, the cockpit reaches via a narrow staircase to a sunbathing space with pop-up gas-ram headrests and a table that extends toward the sun pad. The foredeck offers a sun pad and sofa under a canopy, with a flip-over backrest that converts the seating into more sunbathing space. The hydraulic bathing platform stays clear for swimming, and the tender garage holds a 3.25-meter Pirelli J33 tender alongside a jet ski. For anyone comparing an Azimut S7 for sale, the combination of carbon construction, triple-engine economy and a forward galley layout sets the parameters worth weighing.
