Boat Features

The Azimut Magellano 60 is the newest and smallest model in the Magellano range, sitting below the existing 66 (a 25-meter boat) and the 30-meter flagship while sharing their classical aesthetic, teak detailing and Ken Freivokh exterior styling. The hull measures 60 feet with a beam of 16 feet 11 inches, and the boat uses Azimut's semi-displacement dual mode hull that lets it run as either a fast cruiser or an economical long-range passagemaker. UK pricing for the Azimut Magellano 60 has been quoted at £2.8 million including tax, around £2.35 million plus VAT, which gives a useful reference point for anyone weighing the Azimut yacht 60 price. The teak stripes, lower hull color and "canopy" superstructure mark it out clearly against more avant-garde boats in the Azimut fleet.

Power on the 60 Magellano comes from twin MAN i6 730 hp diesels driving through V-drive shafts rather than pods. The wide cruising band runs roughly 18 to 24 knots, with a top end close to 28 to 30 knots and a displacement gait of 8 to 10 knots. Fuel sits in two 1,800-liter tanks for 3,650 liters total. At 15 knots the Azimut Magellano 60 range is about 350 nautical miles, and the semi-planing hull actually returns slightly better efficiency at 18 to 20 knots; throttled back to 8 to 9 knots in displacement mode, owners can expect close to 1,000 nautical miles depending on load and sea state. The hull handles steep 1.5 to 2 meter swell comfortably, the ride stays dry, and trim tabs are fitted though seldom needed. A Seakeeper gyro, generator and air conditioning are standard equipment.

Twin lower and flybridge helms are both fully digital, with Raymarine multifunction displays, dedicated digital engine screens and a remote mouse so you can drive the touchscreens without leaning forward. The lower helm is set centrally to clear the forward mullion and give an unobstructed view ahead, with electrically adjustable leather seats, footrests and an opening electric side window for ventilation and talking to crew. Steering runs through a large-diameter wheel, light and direct. Joystick control is standard, combining the twin shafts with a Side-Power proportional bow thruster (and a stern thruster) for true sideways movement and four-point docking, rather than relying on IPS pods. Noise at an 18-knot cruise measures in the late 60s decibels in the saloon.

The cockpit is the layout signature of the Magellano. Instead of a transverse bench, Azimut runs fore-and-aft "Infinity" seating down the centerline with a glass transom behind, so guests on either side keep the view aft over the water. A solid wood high-low table converts from coffee height to dining height, with Seabob storage built in beneath a seat. The hydraulic bathing platform handles a 500 kg tender (a 3.3-meter RIB is typical) and the aft crew cabin is reached through a concealed transom door, fitted with a berth, sink, porthole and a shower-curtain wet room. Side gates port and starboard are standard, and warping winches with pop-up cleats handle Mediterranean cross-springing. The foredeck adds a C-shaped lounge, a convertible table and a large sun pad seating around ten.

Inside, floor-to-ceiling glazing and a starboard window that drops to deck level flood the saloon with light, and a pop-up TV rotates almost 180 degrees to serve the galley, lounge or cockpit. The aft galley carries Miele appliances, an induction hob with overhead extraction, dishwasher, oven, full fridge-freezer, wine cooler, ice maker and an espresso machine. Below deck the Azimut 60 interior offers a full-beam amidships master with en suite, a VIP forward and a twin/bunk cabin, finished in teak hardwood with marble-effect heads and a washer-dryer. The flybridge mirrors the lower helm, with his-and-hers seats, a C-shaped dinette, forward sunbeds, a wet bar with electric griddle, sink, fridge and ice maker, an electric retractable roof and even a flybridge shower; a reinforced central mast lets the hardtop stand on just two support bars for open sightlines. Buyers comparing the Azimut 60 flybridge against the 60 fly should note this boat carries roughly ten percent more saloon volume thanks to narrower side decks and bulwarks. Several units, including 2024 boats, have been offered for sale in Europe, Australia and the United States.
