The Azimut Magellano 53 is a long-range shuttle that sits apart from the builder's flybridge range, designed around a vertical bow, full beam and a more refined shape than the typical trawler. It belongs to a series of three Magellano models named after Ferdinand Magellan, and the brief is comfortable long-distance cruising at lower speeds. A dual-mode hull lets it run easily at displacement and semi-planing speeds, with a sweet spot around 14 to 16 knots. Top speed is a declared 22 knots, with maximum cruising around 18 knots. The hull lifts noticeably as speed climbs past 23 knots in the right conditions, but its economy comes at low revs: at 7.3 knots each engine burns about 5.7 litres per hour, roughly 1.6 litres per mile. The forward VIP has its own ensuite, with a twin-bunk guest cabin to port and a fourth space that converts between an extra cabin and a store room, served by a shared day head with a circular shower. A washing machine sits in the lower lobby. The galley is aft with a Miele induction hob, oven, Bosch dishwasher and integrated fridge-freezer, and the saloon's high-low table folds out to a full dining table.
