The 2017 Azimut 54 Fly takes a different path: twin Volvo Penta D11 direct-drive shafts with thrusters rather than pods, reaching a 32-knot top speed and a 26-knot cruise. On the water the planing hull gets up at 16 to 18 knots, settles into its element above 26 knots, and burns around 97 liters per hour per engine at 23 knots, rising to roughly 150 liters per side near wide-open throttle. The Fly 62 uses twin Volvo IPS, standard 1050s or optional 1200s rated at 900 horsepower each.

Helm options are a strong point across the range. The 53 carries a lower helm in the saloon and a flybridge station, with an optional third control point in the cockpit; both stations use Garmin touchscreens, with a gold package fitted as standard and a Platinum package offering larger displays. The 54 Fly is unusual in placing its lower helm to port and its flybridge helm to starboard, and pairs Volvo Penta engine displays with Raymarine MFDs, autopilot, a Seakeeper controller and a yacht controller for dockside maneuvering.

On deck, the 53 and 54 both feature a hydraulic bathing platform; the 53's is rated to 500 kilograms, enough to launch a tender such as a Williams 325. Cockpits offer L- or C-shaped seating with optional wet bars, and the flybridge can be specified with a manual Bimini, an electro-hydraulic Bimini or a hardtop with a one-touch canvas sunroof. The Fly 62 adds a beach cockpit at the stern and a swim platform that lowers fully into the water, plus a flybridge with a retractable roof, second helm, wet bar, ice maker and fridge.

Below, the 53 places an aft galley with induction cooking, a dishwasher and a domestic-sized fridge-freezer behind oak cabinetry, a forward VIP, a twin cabin, and a guest bathroom oriented to double as a day head. The 54 has a full-beam master with hull windows, a forward V-berth, a twin bunk room and crew quarters under the cockpit seating with its own head and shower. The Fly 62 offers a full-beam king master with the head positioned between cabin and engine room as a sound barrier, a forward VIP with rain shower, a twin guest cabin, a washer-dryer, and an air-conditioned crew cabin with separate access, designed for owners who run crew.
