Boat Features

The Azimut 62 is a three-stateroom flybridge motor yacht built by the Italian yard Azimut, with exterior lines by Alberto Mancini and an interior by Fabio Fanolino, who also styled the larger Fly 72. The current Fly 62 is a ground-up redesign that replaces the Azimut Fly 60, one of the brand's best-selling models with roughly 500 units built from the original mold. Mancini moved the superstructure forward and closer to the bow, adding interior volume and lengthening the cockpit while keeping the proportions clean. Anyone shopping the Azimut 62 flybridge for sale is looking at a 62-foot yacht with full-height side glazing, teak decking, and side boarding gates on both sides of the cockpit.

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta IPS drives. The standard package is IPS 1050s, with optional IPS 1200s rated at 900 horsepower each. With the larger engines the yacht should reach a top speed of around 32 knots and cruise well into the 20s. Twin Seakeeper 6 gyro stabilizers are fitted rather than a single larger unit, giving the option of running one or both for more or less stabilization, and a Nanni generator handles onboard electrical loads. The engine room is laid out with labeled systems, accessible strainers and clear access to the IPS pods.

The signature feature on this Azimut 62 yacht is the beach cockpit, an optional electric system that folds the cockpit seatback down and lowers the seats to create a flat sun pad open to the water at the stern. Two safety sensors prevent the system from closing if anything obstructs it, and the pop-up light sits between the sensors so it cannot be crushed. The standard configuration replaces this with an enclosed terrace and a large storage compartment for toys and fenders. The hydraulic swim platform lowers to launch a tender up to a Williams 325, and a coffee shower with adjustable temperature is built into the transom.

Inside, the galley has been relocated aft and run inline, with a full-height fridge-freezer, induction hob, oven and dishwasher, plus a dinette opposite that uses a high-low table. A step up leads to the main salon with a large sofa, carpeting and the low-set, full-height windows the 60 was known for, including a cutout in the bulwark that keeps the view open to the water. The helm sits to starboard with dual electrically adjustable seats, twin Garmin screens, a leather-wrapped single-spoke Azimut wheel and a single-piece windshield with no central mullion. A Fusion audio system, integrated with the Garmin plotters, serves the bow, cockpit and bridge.

The Azimut 62 interior places a full-beam master suite amidships with an athwartship bed, a glass headboard, a high-low television with integrated soundbar and an ensuite head with a single oversized sink, rain shower and folding door. The forward VIP has an ensuite with a rain shower and a hydraulically lifting bed over storage, while a twin guest cabin sits to starboard and shares the day head. A combined washer-dryer is in the lower lobby, and a separate crew cabin aft, accessed from the side deck, has twin bunks and its own head and shower. A chiller-based air conditioning system keeps the staterooms quiet underway.

The flybridge gives the boat its name, with an upper helm featuring twin screens and the same single-spoke wheel, a wet bar with grill, fridge and ice maker, an electrically operated sunroof in the hardtop, and an aft seating area with a glass balcony view over the stern. The bow carries Azimut's convertible sunpad that flips to a forward-facing seat, a Cron Marfil table and a stowage point for a carbon sunshade pole. Shoppers comparing the Azimut yachts 62 specifications should confirm engine choice, whether the beach cockpit or standard terrace is fitted, and the stabilizer configuration, as these drive both performance and the layout of any Azimut 62 for sale.
