Powered by twin high-output 1812cc 4-cylinder, 4-stroke Yamaha marine engines, the SX240 delivers strong performance and efficient cruising capabilities.
Power and Performance
During testing, the Yamaha SX240 achieved a top speed of 51.4 miles per hour at 7,550 RPM, consuming 23.2 gallons per hour and yielding a fuel economy of 2.2 miles per gallon, which translates to a range of approximately 100 miles at full throttle. For cruising, two optimal settings were identified: at 6,000 RPM, the boat reached 37.4 miles per hour while burning 11.5 gallons per hour, and at 5,550 RPM, it cruised at 31.7 miles per hour with a fuel burn of 9.8 gallons per hour. Both cruising modes provided an efficient 3.2 miles per gallon and an extended range of 147 miles.
