Vessel Overview
Just read this review from a national magazine. ", Yamaha has broken away from the pack with its new LS2000. The LS2000 is 19 feet 6 inches long, with space for seven passengers. Hull size is one thing, but if you want to play with the big bowriders, you have to be judged by a list that includes cruising potential, towing ability, top speed and price. The guys on the aft lounge have plenty of body space in the contoured seats, with ample legroom. The bucket helm and companion seats are also comfortable and secure as I'm zipping across the glassy water at 45 mph. With its 8-foot beam and modified-V hull, the boat's stable. It's dry for the people up front. In tight turns, it doesn't have the skipping-stone handling of some jet boats. The running surface has double chines and 18 degrees of deadrise, which turns into a delta lift pad at the transom. The twin 135-hp Yamaha engines give the LS2000 serious water skiing and wakeboarding potential. I spend a half-hour skiing behind it using the optional ski tow pylon. Despite my best efforts to pull the stern by going back and forth across the wake, the boat stays straight.

The LS2000's a rocket out of the hole, accelerating from 0 to 25 mph in 2.7 seconds. My radar gun clocks a top speed of 52.3 mph, with two people on board, in slight chop.
Construction is solid: polyester resin, biaxial fiberglass and a polyurethane adhesive to bond deck and topsides. Below decks are two compartments instead of one. The second compartment is for the engine, and it's important, because it keeps water from coming in through the bilge.

But, the important thing here is that the LS2000 will change the way people think about jet-powered boats, and will make them realize that they're more than toys. Which is another way of saying the LS2000 is the missing link between jet boats and traditional bowriders.
Electronics
  • Am/Fm CD stereo with speakers throughout cockpit
  • Depth finder and aircraft style engine gauges

Electrical
Battery switch utilizing tinned, color-coded/numbered marine-grade wire, all harnesses are tie-wrapped in flexible conduit and meet or exceed ABYC standards. Tinned wire prevents corrosion, increasing life/electrical ntegrity.
Deck
  • Adjustable side mirrors
  • Self-retracting boarding ladder
  • Deck lighting
  • Large capacity ski locker

Cockpit
Erase the line that used to differentiate jet boats from conventional boats," according to Mark Speaks, vice president of Yamaha Watercraft Group. For example, the LS2000 offers seating for seven people, making it the largest jet boat in its class. At 19 feet, 6 inches long and 8 feet wide, the 2000 features:
  • Drink holders at each seating location
  • Dual windshields with storage underneath
  • A full-size ski locker under the floor
  • Three-wide rear bench seat
  • Two custom swivel bucket helm seats
  • Self-bailing deck design
  • 12-volt accessory outlet

Engine Details
Twin 3 cylinder 2 stroke 1131cc engines for total 270 Hp capacity. Modern helm console with easy to read gauges. Shorelander trailer included.
  • Oil injection with 3 gallon capacity
  • Triple Mikuni super BN 44 carburetion
  • 42 Gallon fuel capacity
  • 7 Gallon reserve fuel capacity
  • 3 blade stainless steel 16.5 pitch
  • impeller

Hull Details
Where the boat hits the water is also different from other jet boats. For example, the LS2000 has no lifting strakes on the hull. This translates to less pounding when the water gets rough, and the LS2000 does deliver a smooth ride even in chop. The hull design gives the LS2000 razor-sharp maneuverability and water-holding capability. Unlike a lot of jet boats, the LS2000 turns sharply without spinning out like a personal watercraft.

Yamaha engineers also considered maintenance and operation when designing the boat. They installed impeller clean-out openings on the integrated swim platform for easy access. If an impeller becomes clogged with weeds, just unscrew the fittings, reach in and pull them out. In less than two minutes, you're on your way.
Broker's Remarks
