Central to the 242X's improvements is the innovative Surf Point nozzle design, which positions the jet nozzles at a specific angle to channel water into the wake and then out to the sides. To further refine the wake, Yamaha incorporated 1,400 pounds of ballast distributed in three locations: under the deck at the center and beneath each of the two side seats.
