Unlike many electric boats intended solely for lakes and rivers, this model features a high bow and open transom inspired by ocean racing sailboats, ensuring safety and seaworthiness in rough conditions. Its design emphasizes stability, safety, and performance, making it arguably the safest 26-foot boat tested.

Measuring 25 feet 10 inches in length overall and displacing 5,560 pounds empty, the ELX 8000 boasts a high freeboard of four feet eight inches forward to prevent green water from coming aboard. Any water that does enter flushes immediately through the open transom. The hull incorporates hard chines, two running strakes, and an 8-degree dead rise at the transom, enhancing efficiency and stability.
