Other Wilbur boats for sale in Connecticut, United States
The late Lee S. Wilbur was a leading Downeast boatbuilder. His Dirigo 31' demonstrates the proven Wilbur quality and style, meticulously built by local craftmen in Southest Harbor, Maine. The fiberglass semidisplacement hull has a sharp entry and a flat run aft, carrying a full-length keel and fully protected prop and rudder. The interior features white bulkheads and contrasting fine teak trim.
Willis Beal designed the hull for the commercial fishermen in need of a hull that would slip through the water with ease, carrying a heavy cargo of lobster traps on the large stern deck. With a 12' beam and a 38" draft, the Dirigo 31, powered by a quiet and economical single Yanmar 300 hp, will comfortably cruise all day at 15 kt, and will run at 19 kt when needed.
Whether for fishing, cruising, or entertaining, if your needs include an honest, classic, Downeast boat, with sea kindly manners, POLLIWOG might be for you. She is an extremely rare single-owner boat, barely used with remarkably low 335 hours since new, always inside winter stored, with comprehensive service records from day one, and 100% professionally maintained at one of New England's finest hipyards. She is a true gem and must be seen.
POLLIWOG has been upgraded with bow thruster and a sparkling Flag Blue painted hull, but is otherwise in authentic original condition.
