This Ted Brewer design is sought after because of the lovely and practical design. This particular Whitby 42 was purchased as a project boat in 2011, completely stripped out and lovingly re-done by her knowledgeable owners, with the help of professionals when needed. There are about 600 hours on the rebuilt engine, all wiring and plumbing has been replaced as well as standing rigging and most running rigging. Some notable updates include: new aluminum fuel tanks, New Onan 5Kw generator (< 100 hrs, 2 years left on warranty), Frigoboat keel-cooled refrigeration, all new ground tackle, Lewmar electric windlass and much, much more! You will not find a finer Whitby 42 on the market, just look at the photos! Northern Phoenix took her family on a year long cruise to the Bahamas and is now ready for new owners.

Cons

Older Systems: Being a vessel from 1978, many boats may require updates or maintenance on engines, rigging, and onboard systems.

Limited Modern Amenities: The boat’s classic design means it may lack some contemporary conveniences found on newer cruisers.

Handling in Light Air: The heavier displacement can make the boat less responsive in light wind conditions.
