Overview

The Wellcraft 241 Fisherman is a versatile bay boat designed primarily for fishing in shallow waters while also accommodating family comfort. Measuring 24 feet 4 inches in length overall with a beam of 8 feet 6 inches and a draft of 31 inches, this boat balances functionality with thoughtful design features. Its empty weight is 4,200 pounds, and with full fuel and two passengers, the test weight was approximately 5,142 pounds.

Exterior Design and Deck Layout

The aft casting deck is spacious and features a non-skid surface, providing stability even when moving about. It measures 7 feet 6 inches across with an 18-inch step up and a center section width of 1 foot 9 and a half inches. A flip-up bench seat spans 36 inches and is supported by dual struts on each side. Beneath the side decks are live wells with lift and lock hatches for secure access. Flip-up cleats reduce tripping hazards, while rod holders and tackle storage compartments are conveniently located forward of the casting deck. Two two-inch deck drains facilitate easy washdowns. Under the leaning post, a 72-quart carry-on cooler is stored, complemented by multiple rod holders both on the post and the optional hardtop. The hardtop itself is well-crafted with a slight curve to promote water runoff, preventing pooling near antennas. It includes spreader lights, three-color helm lighting, and an optional electronics box accessible from both front and rear, ideal for separating gear between captain and passengers. The side decks are 20 inches wide, and the foredeck is accessed via a nine-inch step, offering ample walking space with a raised tow rail for safety.
