The Wauquiez Pilot Saloon is a true pilot saloon, with raised salon/dinette and galley which afford visibility and ample light through the large eyebrow windows. Wauquiez (pronounced Vok-ee-yay) are renowned for their low-production, high-quality vessels. The factory is in the north of France and this brand has all the DNA of a good, French built and designed cruising boat - with performance being the highest priority.
The owners of Iolanthe have used her actively in the time they have been her custodians (since 2010), taking her to the Bahamas on a regular basis, enjoying her strengths as a capable offshore sailing vessel and a comfortable cruiser.
The features that really sold them on the boat was the quality of the build and the fold-down transom, which makes access to and from the water safe and effortless.
