Blend a design by the legendary naval architect Ted Hood with the renowned craftsmanship of northern France's Henri Wauquiez Boatyard and you get an unbeatable cruiser like the Hood 38! There are few equals in structural integrity and quality construction. An ocean crossing capable boat that is well respected by bluewater cruisers world wide.

The Wauquiez Hood 38 is a sistership to the Bristol 38.8 and Little Harbor Hood 38. MOONBOW is the popular Mk II version, and is powered with a Perkins 47-hp diesel. New and tasteful upholstery.

Her 4'6" draft with centerboard up allows island cruising yet her 10' 8" centerboard draft allows for serious blue water crossings.

This is a Cutter rigged boat with inner baby stay. She comes with a jib, a staysail / storm staysail, main and multicolored cruising gennaker w/ sock.

The owner, an experienced sailor, reports that MOONBOW is an exceptionally solid boat, is a true joy to sail!

October 2013:

Completed blister repair, barrier coat, antifouling paint, thru-hull valves serviced or replaced, complete rebuild centerboard, major rework of the rudder, new mast boot, and general servicing of the engine, all new batteries, and drain and clean fuel tank.
