Built for an experienced yachtsman and long time Hinckley owner, she was designed to be a fast and elegant yacht for day trips with friends and family on the Maine coast with accommodations for a couple or small family below. A combination of cutting edge technology, modern Italian styling and exquisite craftsmanship result in a unique yacht unlike any other. The owners experience with Hinckley Picnic Boats and their waterjet propulsion systems in Maine waters led to the addition of waterjet propulsion on Illegal, resulting in a shallow draft with no running gear on the bottom and incredible maneuverability around the docks
Her carbon fiber construction and advanced hull design result in a safe, fast ride and her layout and design provide comfortable seating both in the protection of the pilothouse and in the generous bow seating area that can convert to a sun lounge. Down below, additional seating coverts to a berth with a head with separate shower stall. A simple, galley up pilothouse designs is equally useful for entertaining or cruising.
Illegal has been maintained and improved since new by Hinckley Yacht Services in Southwest Harbor, Maine and is only available due to the owner taking delivery of a larger yacht

The Hinckley Company started in 1928 as the Manset Boatyard in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Henry R. Hinckley's focus was on servicing the local lobster boats as well as the yachts of summer residents on Mt. Desert Island. In 1933, Henry built his first boat, Ruthyeolyn, a 36-foot fisherman with beautiful lines that are surprisingly familiar and still look the part even today.
