With over 120 built, the Viking 50 is a very popular sleek and well-proportioned sport fisherman with the angular good looks common to all modern Viking designs. While she may be considered small by current tournament-boat standards, she is full-sized in terms of features and performance and was designed by the renowned Wilson family of naval architects steeped in the traditions of Viking Yachts.
One of the fastest boats in her class, her twin 820hp, 10 cylinder MANs will deliver a cruising speed of about 26 knots with a top speed of 30 knots are known to be exceptionally long-life engines.
The yacht has the preferred 3 stateroom layout and the luxurious master cabin is amidship where the ride is best. The VIP guest cabin has ensuite access to the guest head and all berths are at least 7' in length and can accommodate the tallest. The salon layout is perfect for entertaining while keeping track of children and the galley is completely open to the dinette and salon areas... all are on the same level.
The cockpit features include a huge in-deck refrigerated fish box and bait box, bait station with sink, a Pompanette fighting chair with rocket launchers. The wide side decks lead to the massive foredeck and anchor platform. The bridge layout is superb with seating for 8 and two comfortable full size helm chairs. The stand-up engine room is accessed directly from the cockpit with good outboard access.
The yacht received an extensive refit of the interior and many updates have been supported with an open checkbook including Elite wall coverings, granite counter tops for the galley, salon and heads. Also an Onan 15KW generator, underwater lighting and new plumbing. Just added this year, a new Hotpoint 17 cu. ft. refrigerator with overhead freezer and a 40" wide screen HD TV. The bottom has been barrier coated and fresh antifouling paint just this month. Both the engines and generator were serviced in the Spring.
