NEW DIESEL ENGINES INSTALLED IN 2004

DOODLE BUG is a 40’ 1978 Viking Convertible that has undergone an extensive refurbishment in her lifetime. In the mid 1990’s, she underwent a complete retrofit with a complete exterior Awlgrip paint job. Her bottom was sandblasted down to bare gel coat and repainted. In 2005, a new windshield was added, as was a new hardtop and helm chair. In 2006, a complete new bridge was installed with bench seats port and starboard. The helm was cut down to a single pedestal helm with an electronic storage cabinet that opens and closes electronically. A new bridge enclosure with U-Zip windows was also installed. In 2007, a separate battery and charger were added to the flybridge so that all electronics are self powered from the bridge.

Inside, new carpeting, drapes, blinds and window lambrequins were added. The master stateroom with V-Berth is forward in the bow. Adjoining, and to port is the head with separate stall shower. Opposite to starboard is a hanging locker and next aft is the all electric galley. Opposite to port is the dinette/lounge area. Up three steps is the main salon, which is open with an L-Shaped lounge to port opposite the ship’s power supply and rocker/recliner to starboard. The cockpit is accessed through two double doors.
