INTERIOR

The interior of PERFECT LOVE is stunning. She features high-quality, handcrafted joinery made of ash and teak. There are two cabins, two heads, a spacious salon, an L-shaped galley, and a proper navigation station.

The forward cabin has a double V-berth, a large overhead hatch, cabinets outboard, two hanging lockers. The Ensuite head features a sink, vanity, and a toilet. There is a built-in dresser to starboard and storage in the head area.

Aft of the forward cabin is the spacious main salon. There is a U-shaped settee to port with a rotating coffee/dining table, and a settee to starboard with a movable bench. A flat screen TV is mounted on the port bulkhead. There are cabinets above each settee and storage below the settees. Eight opening stainless steel ports and a large overhead had provide plenty of natural light.

The navigation station is located aft of the salon on the port side of the companionway stairs. It features a bench seat and an opening navigation desk. The electrical distribution panels are mounted outboard. The primary head is located aft of the navigation station and is well designed with a dedicated shower area, toilet compartment, and sink with vanity.

The galley is situated on the starboard side, aft of the salon. It includes a top-loading freezer, a top-loading refrigerator, a stainless steel sink, a 4-burner stove with oven, a full-height pantry with pull-out shelves, and ample counter and storage space. The stove is an Alpes 4-burner with oven, and there is a microwave. Refrigeration is by Technautics

CoolBlue, with the freezer also from Technautics CoolBlue. Aft of the galley is the master cabin, featuring a large berth, striking transom windows, and generous storage. The headroom is 6’3” in the main salon.

Additional berths include two single beds in the main salon, port and starboard couches. The vessel has two heads, one porcelain and one electric, with a freshwater flush. The cabin sole is made of ash framing with 0.75” marine plywood inserts and teak-like vinyl surfaces. LED (12V) lighting is used throughout. The engine, generator, and water maker are all easily accessible.

VESSEL HISTORY

The Vagabond 47 ketch is a renowned, classic blue-water cruiser designed by the famous Canadian naval architect William Garden. Her form captures the spirit of a time when sailing ships represented the height of technology, and her function embodies the strength, safety, and comfort of a serious ocean-going yacht. Hull number 148 was built in 1975 at the Taiwanese yard of Blue Water Yachts, LLC, for an Austrian gentleman. She was christened Incorrigible and claimed Lucerne, Austria, as her home port. The owner sailed Incorrigible across the Atlantic three times. She was eventually purchased by a Georgia businessman who renamed her Mechaya and sailed her for a few years in the Caribbean. She

sat on the hard at English Harbor in Antigua for five years after his death, until his son started sailing her again. She was essentially abandoned at Tierra Verde Marina in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she was discovered by her 3rd owner.  After nearly three months of negotiations with the owner’s widow, an agreement was reached.  On August 8, 2008, Mechaya was brought to Cincinnati to undergo a major restoration project. She was stripped down to a bare fiberglass hull and deck and completely rebuilt, inside and out. She was re-christened Perfect Love and was launched in 2016. The vessel was sold to another owner

Her current owner purchased Perfect Love in 2025.

PERFECT LOVE was featured in the March/April 2018 edition of Good Old Boat Magazine (page 30). All equipment and systems are fully documented, including complete wiring diagrams (with every wire labeled) and plumbing diagrams (fuel and water).
