Features and accessories on this fully restored 1968 U.S. Navy whaleboat include: a fully refinished fiberglass hull, teak topside and floor, custom marine vinyl seat cushions, custom canvas T-top, custom canvas all-weather boat cover, plenty of storage compartments, floor lighting, JVC stereo system, refrigerator, hand-wash sink, 25 gal water tank, Perkins 4.107M 30 HP diesel engine (runs great), new batteries and battery charging system, working gauges (except temp gauge), navigation lights, spotlight, and bilge pump.
There are also 2 LED light bars under the bimini to assist at night. One is white to help loading and unloading. And, the other is red, which is just enough light at night to see in the boat without obscuring objects outside the boat.
Other added upgrades include her teak sole and trim, stainless steel T-top, and stereo sound system. In her original condition, this boat was capable of transporting up to 3 tons of cargo and 22 sailors.
In her current refurbished condition, she has become a well-recognized member of the famed VOL Navy - ideally suited for leisurely cruises.
This beautiful 26' vessel, built by Uniflite in 1968, proudly served as a Captain's tender for the U.S. Navy.
Completely overhauled from the hull up by Love Me Tender Boat Co. in Nashville, TN. Powered by a rebuilt 4-cylinder Perkins diesel engine, she has also had a complete replacement of her upholstery, wiring, and controls.
The United States Navy has been using whaleboats since 1791. The unique shape of their hull and open structure allows for easy access and personnel loading. Whaleboats are still used in modern day as captain's tenders, lifeboats, patrol boats, touring vessels, and pleasure boats.
It does not come with a trailer.
