Built as a replica of a 1781 Privateer, Formidable was built in 2000 in City Island, NY
with a steel hull. Make sure to watch the video to see her in all her glory.
Operated as a charter vessel with focus on a pirates life she has provided fun for all ages but we are told that while the kids had a blast, it's the adults that enjoy her the most.
We are fortunate to also be able to offer commercial dock space in CT to the interested buyer.
On deck you can find cannons, climb the ratlines into the rigging, set the sails and fly the Jolly Roger for a true pirate adventure. Down below she has an aft cabin for crew sleeping quarters, a huge central cabin with plenty of seating, galley and head, and up forward another large cabin currently used as a workshop.
While designed for the way she has been purposed, it is easy to visualize Formidable as a wonderful private yacht with relatively little in the way of changes.
Powered by a 160 hp turbo charged Yanmar diesel she can run under power for those few days when the wind doesn't want to help, or just to make getting in and out of dock an easy task.
