The history of this model is a bit difficult to follow. Trojan introduced her in 1993 as the 370 Expressââ?¬â??basically a reworked version of the companyââ?¬â?¢s earlier 10.8 Meter Mid-Cabin model (1991ââ?¬â??92). In 1995 she became the Trojan 390 when a new extended swim platform increased her length, and in 1998ââ?¬â??for no apparent reasonââ?¬â??she became the Trojan 400 Express. Through all of the name changes, the cockpit and interior remained basically unchanged. Curved companionway steps lead into a comfortable salon with cherry-wood cabinets and 6 feet, 4 inches of headroom. A bi-fold door separates the forward stateroom from the salon, while a curtain provides privacy in the mid-cabin. In the head, the toilet is hidden under a seat in the shower to conserve space. Topside, the 440ââ?¬â?¢s cockpit has a triple helm seat to starboard as well as a large L-shaped lounge aft. Note that the entire aft deck can be raised on hydraulic rams for access to a very roomy engine compartment.
