An optional swim ladder was also fitted on the test boat, enhancing utility.

During testing, the Bay 190 achieved a top speed of 36 miles per hour at 5,400 RPM and planed within approximately three seconds. Cruising speed was recorded at 29.9 miles per hour at 4,500 RPM, with a fuel consumption rate of 10.1 gallons per hour.
