If big fish and blue water are on your agenda, for say, the next couple of decades, then you deserve to head offshore aboard the Triton 351 CC. This rugged 35-foot center console has it all. The open, uncluttered layout is a study in versatility. It?s equally suited to a caster or jig fisherman as it is to the guy who trolls a six-rod spread. Triton designers made the most of the broad ten-foot beam with plenty of integrated storage, a huge high output baitwell, plus china head and sink below the console. Yet of all the outstanding features on the 351 CC, there?s one which will leave an indelible impression? its ability to handle a sea. Thanks to an advanced deep-vee hull design, this rugged 900HP-rated sportfisherman is a wave shredding, spray shedding machine that?s backed by the strongest warranty in the business. Boattest.com Review
Overview
The Triton 351 is the largest model in Triton's Blue Water Series, designed specifically for serious offshore fishing and rough water conditions. Introduced in 2005, this 35-foot center console boat combines Carolina-style aesthetics with robust functionality, making it a standout choice for anglers seeking performance and comfort.
Exterior Design and Deck Layout
Measuring 34 feet 10 inches overall with a 10-foot beam, the Triton 351 features a wide bow that provides ample space for handling ground tackle, lines, and casting. The bow area includes two lockers for ground tackle and fenders, inset bow rails, and wraparound bolsters to enhance safety and comfort. Bow rod lockers double as insulated fish boxes with removable rod organizers, while a large 500-gallon fish box is integrated into the sole. Additional lockable rod lockers are located amidships under the gunnels. The stern area includes a bench seat with a fish box and integrated cutting board beneath, rod holders, a live well, and rocket launcher rod holders across the back. The boat's draft is a shallow 24 inches, allowing access to skinny water, and the hull has a 24-degree dead rise at the transom.
Helm and Functional Features
The helm area is spacious and thoughtfully designed, featuring a port-side head equipped with a china toilet, vertical rod holders, netted storage, and a sink with a pull-out shower sprayer. In front of the helm is a cooler and seat, while the helm console itself offers ample room for electronics installation. Controls such as trim and zero effort throttles, Honda gauges, and the power control panel are conveniently positioned to the right of the wheel. A low-range flat screen system is installed just behind the wheel, enhancing navigation and system monitoring.
Power and Performance
Powered by triple Honda BF 225 horsepower four-stroke engines, the Triton 351 delivers impressive performance and efficiency. These engines, sharing technology with Honda's automotive Odyssey and Pilot models, utilize a two-stage air induction system that optimizes airflow across all speeds. The belt-driven 60 amp alternator provides a strong electrical output, delivering 48 amps at just 1,000 rpm to support onboard electronics and battery charging. The propulsion system includes a lower unit with forward and reverse gears and an oil pump, with a water pump impeller located above the gear case requiring routine maintenance. On the water, the boat planes in 4.3 seconds and reaches 30 miles per hour in 7.6 seconds. It cruises comfortably at 25.2 miles per hour at 3,000 rpm, offering a range of 496 miles on a full tank, while its top speed is 56.6 miles per hour at 6,000 rpm with a 290-mile range.
