2012 Tidewater 230 CC - Yamaha F250 Four Stroke, 652 Hours

Seafoam green hull, fiberglass hardtop, and a Yamaha 250 on the transom. This is the 23-foot Tidewater that does everything right for New England water: fish it hard, run it offshore on a good day, and still have it be easy to launch, trailer and store.

The 230 CC is built on a deep-V hull with moderate bow flare - 8'10" beam, 15" draft, about 3,200 lbs - so it's dry, stable, and punches well above its length in a chop. Sea trial numbers back it up: 23 kts at 4000 RPM, 30 kts at 5000, and 38.8 kts wide open at 5950 - right in Yamaha's spec band.

Power is a Yamaha F250TXR six-cylinder four stroke with 652 hours, turning a Yamaha Saltwater Series II 15.25" x 19" stainless prop. Compression tested at 173-177 psi across all six cylinders with only 2.2% variance - a tight, healthy motor with plenty of life left.

Fishing package is dialed: large aerated livewell, insulated fish boxes, raw water washdown with 12V pump, transom-mount transducer, and rod storage throughout. Helm has a Garmin GPSmap 541s chartplotter/sounder, Ritchie compass, Yamaha analog gauges, and Yamaha top-mount controls. Lenco electric trim tabs, SeaStar hydraulic steering, JBL AM/FM stereo with four speakers, 12V horn, and full navigation lighting.

Deck hardware is all done right - five 6.5" stainless pop-up cleats, stainless grab rails, white PVC rub rail with stainless insert, telescoping three-step stainless swim ladder off the port side, and a curved acrylic windscreen with Isinglass side and front panels. Dual Deka group 24 batteries with selector switch, 1100 GPH Rule automatic bilge pump.
