The 43 LE offers refined interior amenities alongside versatile exterior social spaces. Below deck, a private owner's stateroom is located forward while a mid-cabin guest stateroom and private head accent the space. The Tierra Sport 43LE represents the inaugural model in Tierra Yachts' new LE series, designed primarily as a triple outboard powered yacht with a strong focus on versatile entertainment spaces. This model emphasizes social interaction, particularly in its innovative stern area, making it a compelling option for those seeking a blend of performance and leisure.
Exterior Design and Cockpit Features
The standout feature of the 43LE is its rotating cockpit seating, a concept first introduced on the builder's 38LS model and now refined for this yacht. The seating system offers three locking positions: forward, 45 degrees to port, and aft-facing, each equipped with pop-out footrests. Between the seats, a high-gloss pedestal table creates a spa-like ambiance ideal for socializing. Adjacent to this is a port side drop-down bulkhead terrace that significantly enhances the entertaining space. For safety and security underway, stainless steel framed acrylic gates enclose the cockpit. Forward seating in the cockpit includes port and starboard seats angled at 45 degrees, forming a spacious venue for gatherings. The helm area features double-wide forward helm and observer seats mounted on solid fiberglass bases, which also rotate to 45-degree aft-facing positions, allowing up to ten guests to enjoy theater-like seating for sunset views at anchor. An overhead 32-inch aft-facing TV is integrated into the hardtop, though its current placement limits visibility for some guests. The cockpit area can be fully enclosed with an optional stainless steel framed glass bulkhead, providing climate control and enhanced security with locking sliding glass doors, effectively extending the usability of the yacht into three seasons.
Galley and Entertainment Amenities
The main deck galley is thoughtfully divided port and starboard between the forward and aft seating areas, maximizing counter space for food preparation and serving. To starboard, a gloss-finished teak and Corian console houses a refrigerator beneath a slide-out storage compartment. The port side mirrors this arrangement with a sink recessed into the counter and dedicated storage for the sink cover. Cooking is facilitated by an electric grill positioned on the aft side of the rotating seat module, doubling as an outdoor barbecue and social hub. Additional features include an inward-opening starboard side cockpit door that facilitates boarding from floating docks and provides convenient access for swimmers and scuba divers. Multiple reboarding options are available, including a ladder on the port side terrace and an emergency pull-out ladder on the port transom platform.
Bow and Lower Deck Accommodations
The bow area serves as another social zone, featuring two sun pads with adjustable head sections that convert into chaise lounges. Access to the lower deck is via a center-mounted companionway with a sliding hatch. The forward stateroom boasts an island berth flanked by hull-side windows, a stylized headboard with dual gooseneck LED lights, and a 32-inch TV mounted on the aft bulkhead. The mid-cabin includes a privacy door and contains a double berth alongside a settee suitable for accommodating a child overnight. A hull-side window with an integrated port light provides natural illumination. To starboard, the well-appointed head is accented with antique beechwood and includes a separate shower compartment.
Helm and Operational Features
The helm station is located to starboard and combines leather, teak, and molded fiberglass in an upscale design. It accommodates two 16-inch multifunction displays, with the helm panel capable of tilting upward to expose the backside for maintenance and installations. An overhead panel houses engine displays. The double-wide helm seat includes footrests beneath both the seat and console. To port, the observer station features climate control vents integrated into a high-gloss teak finish, space for an additional multifunction display, and a Fusion stereo system, complemented by a glove box below. Visibility is excellent through large, two-piece tempered glass curved windshields extending to the hardtop, with an extended brow to reduce glare, contributing to the yacht's striking profile. The starboard quarter conceals two 50-amp shore power cords on electric reels behind a bulwark panel, with fresh and raw water washdown quick connects nearby. A deck hatch provides access to a central mechanical compartment housing filters, pumps, battery switches, a 7.5 kW diesel generator, and an optional Seakeeper gyro mounted on reinforced stringers. The ground tackle system is concealed under a hatch and includes a windlass with a through-stem roller controlled by wired remotes at the bow and helm.
Power and Performance
The 43LE is powered by either triple Yamaha 425 horsepower XTO outboards or triple Mercury 450R racing outboards, both V8 configurations equipped with joystick control and autopilot capabilities. Although the boat has not yet undergone detailed testing or inspection, Tierra Yachts reports that the 27,000-pound vessel can achieve speeds slightly over 50 miles per hour with either engine option, reflecting strong performance potential for a yacht of this class.
