Plenty of room for friends, family, and gear, the Tiara 4200 Open offers room to spare, allowing any Tiara owner to travel in style. An upper cockpit wet-bar with sink, cutting board, refrigerator, and insulated cooler aft mean that the sportsman and cruiser alike will have enough room for preparation and storage of bait, fish and food. An automatic rope / chain anchor windlass system with operation from fore-deck foot pedal and remote switch at the helm, ensures that in high or low seas, the captain will remain in control. Four 10-inch spring line cleats and two 6-inch fender cleats mean the 4200 can be tied up safely and securely. The 4200 Open features a hull and deck constructed with a gel-coat outer layer, hand-laid fiberglass and balsa core (deck and hull-sides) with a special blended premium resin. The custom composite windshield frame, with tempered safety glass, offers safety handrails, power opening center section, and three washer / wipers. Tiara's custom 12V DC and 120V / 240V AC electrical system, 50 amp battery charger, and a 12V DC 2-bank battery system with gel cell batteries, ensures heavy-duty power. Power, performance and safety are important to any Tiara owner and the 4200 engine platform is no exception. The 4200 Open will run on either the CAT C12 engine platform, equipped with the CAT MPD engine display or the Cummins diesel engine platform, equipped with the Cummins C-Cruise engine display.
PowerBoat Guide Says: A top-selling model during her production years, the chief attribute of the Tiara 4200 Open is her ability to serve equally well as a high-end cruising yacht or serious sport fishing machine. Tiara has been building practical, dual-purpose express yachts like this for years. No surprise, then, that the 4200 Open raised the bar for boats of her type when she was introduced in 2003. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with wide 14'11" beam and prop pockets to level the engines, generous bow flare and wide reverse chines provide an exceptionally dry open-water ride. Two interior layouts were offered: Plan A, the original floorplan, has an extended portside lounge/dinette with the galley and head opposite, while Plan B adds a starboard lounge with privacy enclosure, sort of a second stateroom. In both configurations Tiara's satin-finished teak joinery and traditional teak and holly sole offer a pleasant contrast to the high-gloss interiors found in many express yachts. The 4200's spacious cockpit could be factory-configured for fishing with an optional livewell, bait prep station with sink, and tackle center and freezer. Cummins 670hp diesels cruise at 27-28 knots (low 30s top).
Additionally, this 42 Open was the first Tiara offering to be constructed with their developing stealth noise cancelling technologies. This 42 Open is quieter than others of her vintage and led to Tiara's ongoing pursuit of NVH as their models developed. Quiet and refined like all Tiaras of today, the 42 Open broke new ground when brought to market in 2004. Note: Salon artwork not included.
