These engines originate from a GM 6.2-liter block enhanced with multi-port fuel injection and a sixth-generation root-style supercharger with an intercooler, providing consistent linear power and substantial torque. The engines feature closed-loop glycol cooling to prevent corrosion, easy-access components for maintenance, and a ZF electronic transmission with a wet clutch for smooth, silent gear changes. Notably, the 527 is the first Seven Marine engine to offer optional duo-prop lower units, which are the largest propellers available on outboards, delivering superior grip, quick planing, and excellent low-RPM efficiency.
