"Rhapsody" is a fine example of a Tartan 4100 designed by Tim Jackett. The 4100 is arguably one of Tim Jackett's best designs to come off the drawing board for Tartan. Not only is the 4100 a great sailing boat, she is a strikingly beautiful boat, not only from the outside, but from the inside as well. Her interior layout and appointments are unmatched by others. Her large and roomy 2 cabin interior coupled with rich interior wood work and Corian counter tops and secure galley, gives the feeling of a custom boat ready for offshore sailing rather than a top end production boat.
Over the 15 years years she has had only 2 owners who have continued to care for and update her as needed. The original owners equipped her for extended cruising with her Panda Generator, 2 AC/Heat Units, Vetus Bow Thruster, Kato Marine SS Dinghy Davits, Life Raft, Quick Release Baby Stay as well as adding a extra fuel tank and water tank to extend her range. They made a couple of extended trips down the ICW to Florida and up along the coast to Maine before the decided to move on to another hobby.
The current owners have enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and summer trips up to Cape Cod. "Rhapsody" has all the creature comforts for offshore cruising and her owners have continued updating her inventory over the years as needed. She has a new Refrigeration System(2015), new electric head (aft head, 2014), new electric anchor windlass (2017), new top down Facnor Furling System for the Cruising Spinnaker (2016), new Full Battened Mainsail(2017), newer Furling Genoa (2013) , Dutchman Flaking System with Tides Marine Strong Track and 2 Ray Marine C-90W Chart-Plotters(2012). AIS, Masthead LED Tri Color, just to name a few items. The owners are moving over to the "dark side" (powerboat) after enjoying "Rhapsody" for the last 9 years and are looking forward to seeing "Rhapsody" go to a good home and continue her cruising up and down the East Coast or beyond.
If you are in the market for a coastal cruiser or offshore boat with all the upgrades already completed, than "Rhapsody" is a must see boat for you. She is ready and waiting to take you where ever you want to go..
