She has been lovingly cared for and often garners many "that's a beautiful boat" comments wherever she goes. With a Hood in-mast mainsail furling system and Profurl genoa furler, ââ¬ÅLibertaââ¬ï¿½ is easily handled by a couple or even singlehanded. She sails exceptionally well and can accommodate two couples or a large family with all the comforts of home. Her interior is finished in a warm teak, with louvered teak doors, cabinets and drawer fronts; the interior is roomy; she is bright and airy, with 2 opening hatches and 9 opening ports, all with screens.
The Sparkman and Stevens designed Tartan 37 has a very usable layout with a forward cabin that sleeps two with a large overhead hatch and two opening ports, storage beneath the V-berth, a built-in chest of drawers, two hanging lockers plus a private entrance to the head and a privacy door leading to the salon. The head is aft to port with a marine toilet, hot and cold pressure water sink and shower spigot, vanity/sink, medicine cabinet and storage for linens. A wet-locker is opposite the head.
The salon features a dining table that conveniently folds up against the main bulkhead while not in use. The table is made of teak with a custom built-in liquor storage cabinet to port. The starboard settee pulls out to form a single berth. There is a very comfortable pilot berth outboard of the starboard settee. There is generous storage behind and below the port settee and below the pilot berth.
The galley is aft to starboard by the companionway. It features a U-shaped design with a large ice box with Frigoboat refrigeration, a gimbaled three burner HilleRange propane gas stove with oven, twin stainless steel sinks, a manual pump and pressure hot and cold water. There is generous pantry storage. Opposite the galley to port is the forward facing navigation station with large desk drawer and 3-drawers below, instrument console, storage cabinet and storage bin below. Aft of the chart table is a large double-width quarter berth with opening port and storage below. Excellent ventilation from 9 screened opening ports, two overhead hatches, four screened Dorade vents, and louvered cabin doors.
