Rarely does a yacht of this pedigree and condition come on the market. TRIPLE CROWN represents a piece of history and a must see for discerning buyers who are seeking an immaculate classic.
TRIPLE CROWN was commissioned in 1972 by Mr. & Mrs. William R. Tucker of Palm Beach Florida. The Tuckers wanted Stephens Bros. to create a 48 footer designed to the lines of John Trumpy's personal 58' Trumpy motor yacht. Working together with the Stephens design team they achieved their dream and took delivery of their new yacht in December 1972.
The syndicate that owned the Triple Crown winning racehorse Secretariat acquired her from the Tucker's and she continued to be home ported in Palm Beach for many years. The loving care and upkeep she received was unsurpassed. Subsequently she has been owned by Lake Tahoe based owners that have continued to give her that same loving care. TRIPLE CROWN has never needed to be restored. Her knowledgeable, long-term owners have continually maintained her in showroom condition. She spent 15 years in a covered berth and she shows practically as well today as the day she was launched.
She is one of the last yachts to be built of old growth Philippine mahogany planking, bent oak framing and douglas fir stringers and keel. Her systems are updated and modernized and over the years her interior has been tastefully upgraded. She recently received a beautiful remodeled galley. Other upgraded features include; Updated electronics, KVH Satellite system, Cruiseair reverse cycle heat/ac. The hullsides shine and her brightwork and teak decks are perfect. Her soft goods and furnishings are like new. She is an absolute turnkey yacht that is ready to cruise and enjoy today.
TRIPLE CROWN is easy to view in her lovely Jack London, Oakland Harbor berth in downtown Oakland CA. Schedule an appointment to inspect her today.
