The designers use what they call a Dihedral V hull with air injection vents on the Starstep model. This unique hull design results in faster hole shots, a smoother ride, less bow rise, and superior performance when compared to other deck boats.

With a 4.3L Mercruiser engine, the Starstep 221 has the power to easily tow two skiers. The turning radius is also better than most deck boats allowing you to quickly make the turn when needed. The extended swim platform is huge, extending the length overall to more than 25 feet, providing the room you need for water sports activities. The 4-step ladder provides safe access to the swim platform. A stern pass-through door allows access to the in-floor ski locker.

This Starcraft Starstep 221 has many desirable features that you usually do not find on a deck boat. The "Family Fun Seat" at the stern converts from a sundeck, to a lounge, to a double-wide rear-facing seat. The seating throughout is comfortable and has high backs for support. Most of the seats have storage below, and the port side seat has a built-in 36-quart cooler that opens when you pull the seat up! For entertainment a front mounted Bluetooth enabled radio with marine-grade speakers is included. A small freshwater tank with a small helm sink and pump faucet is very convenient when you need some water. Also included are stainless steel pull-up cleats and a stainless steel rub rail.

This deck boat will easily hit 40 MPH and cruise efficiently at 30 MPH. The large 44-gallon fuel tank means you won't be refilling the tank often. The angled, molded instrument panel has a full set of gauges to keep the driver informed about all aspects of the operation of the boat and engine, including a depth meter.
