Manufactured by Somerset Houseboats at their state-of-the-art, 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Somerset is recognized in the industry. As the worlds leading houseboat manufacturer as their 2000 model, the Virgin Islander is a houseboat in looks alone, but the virgin-islander is very different to a normal houseboat, the virgin-islander, is a one of a kind boat, the virgin-islander is simply unique. Specifically designed as a luxury-floating hotel, and built to operate in the warm Caribbean, she has jet drives and no propellers to foul the coral or to run in most any type water and with a draft of only 12" to 18" inches maximum she is easily capable of operating in waters as shallow as 3ft or can be simply driven up the beach, safe in the knowledge that you will do no harm. The hull incorporates many unique features, built to Somersetâs unique patented, world-leading "Honeycombed" design, built of marine grade high tensile âReynolds" aluminum, the honeycomb gives the hull tremendous strength and torsional rigidity over normal boat construction. We have added a double plated bow section to enable us to "drive up the beach" and long bilge keels to each side that not only allow the boat to simply dry out on a sandbank whilst staying perfectly upright but enhances the stability of the boat to an amazing degree.
BROKERS REMARKS: What else can I possibly say. A mega-yacht in its own right. Loaded with every option and with custom upgrades done by the factory when she was built, more fuel, more water, less draft, heavier construction than the norm, and at the end of the day priced to sell. This is a water home destination, not a boat! The owner purchased her in the Bahamas- yes the Bahamas. They cruised her back to east coast of Florida then thru the ditch to St. Pete, then to Tarpon Springs on up to New Orleans. She will be cruised at end up the Tom Bigby to Lake Pickwick or somewhere in between. So call to verify location to see. She is being used and that is a good thing. She has the capacity to be delivered to any destination on her own power. Oh- she is a diesel â not gas! Gen-setâs as well are diesel. This is an awesome yacht. Owner is ready to move up. Yes move up! They like the cruise so much and with their five children and the grandkids, that after cruising from the Bahamas to New Orleans have come to the decision they love the room but need more for all business and family needs. Owner has sailed vessel up the Gulf Coast from the Bahamas to New Orleans. Price reduced for quick sale as owner wants to move forward. BRING ALL OFFERS!!!!!!!!!!!
