MAJOR REFIT Completed over 2 Years
"Siena" named after the beautiful, Italian town in Tuscany. This rare Kells 28' Performance Cruiser was built by the Kells Corporation in Rhode Island,1977.
Constructed in hand laid fiberglass, this sturdy fin keel day/weekend/budget cruiser is one of the best looking sailboats on the pre-owned market today. This boat shines and certainly doesn't look her age.
That's because this beautiful sailboat has gone through a major refit over the last two years.
The rig was pulled and checked. While out of the water the bottom, hull, and deck were professionally faired and painted.
The standing rigging was checked and reinstalled.
All 6 large opening ports were removed and rebedded.
The electricals were inspected and a new panel installed.
There is a New Hood roller furling. New running rigging.
New electronics (Garmin GPS and VHF) installed.
A new heavy duty rubrail was installed.
With a wide transom and fin keel she is very modern looking with a spacious cockpit and large under seat lockers.Down below, there is a V-berth forward with portable toilet under. A privacy curtain separates the forward area from the main cabin.
The main cabin has 2 large settees port and starboard. One of the settees pulls out to make a comfortable double bunk. The settees are 3 inch memory foam and very comfortable.
Aft just below the companionway is the galley area which wraps around the back of the cabin. There is a 1 burner alcohol 110 stove and sink to starboard and a large counter with fridge/freezer underneath.
There is ample storage space in drawers, bins and cupboards.
For entertainment, there's a Samsung Flat Screen TV.
There's a 12hp Yanmar diesel under the cockpit.
The boat has wide stern, giving it a large cockpit and good performance. She is very stable.
Full Specs are available at the sailboat data website Kells 28 and actually has a photo os my boat sailing in Sarasota Bay.
There is nothing to do to this boat but have fun with it! This is a completely reconditioned boat; a great day sailor or inexpensive safe cruiser, or live aboard.
