The Skye 51 is one of the great performance offshore cruising boats. These boats combine great looks with very seaman-like sailing qualities. The robust construction means the boat can go just about anywhere without fear for the safety of the yacht or crew. ââ¬ÅMontauk Lightââ¬ï¿½ just came back from a multi-year loop of the northern Atlantic. She crossed the Atlantic twice, with extended cruising in Portugal.
The systems on the boat have been continually upgraded over the years. The boat was originally equipped with teak decks. These were removed and non-skid decks added for ease of use, cooler temperatures and lower overall cost in the long term. This was extremely well done, with hatch changes/additions such that more light and air come into the cabins. The spar was just fully repainted and all standing rigging replaced.
