Offered for sale is a 1985 Silverton 31' Convertable . This boat is unlike any other Silverton on the market, as it has been fully handicap modified for wheel chair accessibility. The modifications include a Folding Transom ramp, Main level Handicap bathroom, and an elevator lift access to the salon. With a recent repower and gear refit, you could expect years of service from this popular Silverton Cruiser.
Captains Comments:This is a fantastic boat for cruising long island sound, block island, newport, shelter island, or fishing out at the race etc. Although we removed the sleeper sofa for handicap access, there is plenty of room to put one back on board. We typically bunk two in the forward V-birth, and two on a high quality airbed in the salon. We have had 6 on board for a week at block island, with two on deck in the camper enclosure. The boat runs flawlessly, and cruises economically at 15 - 19mph. Top speed fully loaded with 8-10 people on board is approximately 24mph. With the boat light on fuel and the canvas down she will just touch 30mph at about 4000 rpm under the right conditions. Typically we would run the boat at headway speed or a slow cruise because of our handicap passengers. The boat has been in fresh water on the CT River for the last five years.She carries 220 gallons of gas, 40 gallons cold water, 12 gallons of hot water, 10 gallon waste.Major improvements, upgrades, and features include:* Re-powered Crusader 350CID: + port engine approx 400 hours, and Starboard engine approx 100 hours.* New Exhaust manifolds and Risers last season. * New freshwater cooling heat exchangers 2 seasons.* Replaced raw water impellers last season ~ 50 hours.* Port V-drive replaced, Starboard V-drive serviced, oil change etc.* New Running gear this season - new shafts, shaftlogs, packings, props conditioned, rudder packings.* New Bridge and Full camper enclosure completed this season.
